Cheryl Murdock
Voice - Online Only
Born in San Marcos Texas, Cheryl started singing along with the radio as soon as she learned her first words. At age 17 she began performing publicly as well as writing songs that touched the hearts of her fans with an emotional honesty rarely heard, and with a voice ranging from sultry vulnerability to soul shaking power.
Cheryl's vocal talents have been featured in several bands over the years including Second Glance, Code Blue, Shine -- and under her own name as a Singer/Songwriter beginning in 2004 with her first solo CD release Starting Fires. Her most recent album Late Bloomer (released in June 2013) gained her recognition both as a gifted vocalist and songwriter. Cheryl was also honored with a Proclamation from the City of Austin's Mayor and the Austin Music Office declaring January 30, 2014 "Cheryl Murdock Day" in appreciation of her talent and contribution to the local music community over the years.
A passion for music and experience as a performing songwriter and vocalist for nearly three decades allows a nurturing and fresh approach to vocal teaching. Cheryl is focused on helping her students find their own unique voice while enhancing their sound through proper vocal technique and maintaining the health of their voice. Meeting each student at their own individual skill level and progressing at the student's pace allows them to develop skills and gain confidence in a creative environment.
