Shelly Knight is a multi-talented musician, educator and broadcast professional with over 30 years of experience in Austin's media and music scene. As a singer/songwriter, Shelly fronts her rock band, Shelly Knight and The Livin' Dead, and serves as the female lead vocalist in the Rockin' Gospel Project, part of Austin's renowned "Hippie Church" counter-culture phenomenon. With three albums released and a fourth on the way, she has performed at iconic venues such as Threadgill's, The Saxon Pub, and The Backroom, as well as major events like the Pecan Street Festival, the Republic of Texas Biker Rally, and SXSW. Shelly also performed in NYC for the Make Music New York festival and continues to perform at venues across Central Texas.
In addition to her music career, Shelly is a certified teacher with 17 years of classroom experience and a seasoned actress and voice-over artist, having lent her voice to television and radio for over three decades. Shelly is now joining the Austin School of Music as a vocal instructor, sharing her expertise with her students.
